Haldi Ceremony

Haldi Ceremony

The Haldi Ceremony is one of the most joyful and sacred pre-wedding rituals in a Punjabi wedding. It marks the beginning of wedding celebrations, where turmeric paste (haldi) is lovingly applied to the bride and groom to bless them with happiness, prosperity, and a radiant new beginning.

This ceremony is filled with laughter, music, teasing, and vibrant energy — setting the perfect tone for the days ahead. Our performances add a traditional Punjabi touch, making the moment lively, memorable, and culturally rich.

Family members and close friends apply haldi to the bride or groom’s face, hands, and feet. The ritual is believed to purify the body, ward off negative energy, and enhance natural glow before the wedding. Singing folk songs, playful moments, and dhol beats make the atmosphere cheerful and full of life.

Our Bhangra & folk performances complement the Haldi Ceremony beautifully — creating an environment of celebration, smiles, and pure Punjabi spirit that everyone cherishes forever.

Who sings / dances (which side & what)

The bride’s family usually leads the Haldi celebrations by singing traditional Haldi geet and Suhag. Female relatives perform lively Giddha, clapping in rhythm while playfully teasing the bride and blessing her with love, happiness, and glow before the wedding.

The groom’s family joins with cheerful folk songs and energetic Bhangra, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Friends and cousins often dance to dhol beats, celebrating strength, joy, and excitement as the groom prepares for his big day.

We create a perfect Haldi vibe by blending soulful Suhag, playful folk singing, and high-energy Bhangra & Giddha. Our performances keep elders emotionally connected while ensuring the younger crowd enjoys a fun, lively, and unforgettable celebration.
